February's One Monthly Goal

Time to link up with Patty @ Elm Street Quilts for February's One Monthly Goal.

And it's time to get my Stash Bee 2016 HST quilt finished. The snow is back....sigh....

I'm not sure how to quilt this.  I don't want to do an all-over quilting motif.  Any suggestions?

The wind picked up and started blowing the quilt around.  Spring can't get here fast enough.

What are you working on this month?  If you have a goal, consider linking up with One Monthly Goal.

  1. That looks like perfect snow! Not slushy or what ever .... smooth and crisp and even as the good king said . Your quilt came together beautifully especially with so much matching ! That was a great bee

  2. Ha! I stepped outside yesterday to photograph a quilt and turned right back around when I felt that uncooperative wind! I never tire of simple HSTs -- they're so versatile. The palette you're working with here is fabulous. The result is 100% modern, and the pops of color give it a solid sense of energy. This design in these colors transcends trends. This quilt will still be relevant and timely in a decade (or four!).

  4. My snow will be gone today as we are under a rainfall warning now. This has been an unusual winter snow one day rain the next. What do you think of straight line quilting in a triangle effect.

  5. This quilt is so cool! HSTs look really nice with wavy line quilting but I know you said you didn't want to do an overall. Can't help with that!

  6. I do love this quilt. What about some different dot to dot quilting in the different colored HST's kind of like what Angela Walters does?

  7. Think treating each orange triangle as the centre of an island and doing your quilting (spirals maybe?) centred around each of them, stopping when you bump into the quilting coming from a different triangle. And come visit me! We have about 6" of snow maybe but it's supposed to rain and be hot later in the week so the snow will be gone soon!

  10. I am fan of walking foot quilting (straight lines, gentle curves) because I cannot FMQ to save my life :-D The quilt top is lovely. I am sure it will be terrific - whatever you choose. Weatherwise, it feels like spring here. Please send us some snow. I'd love to get a snow day off - just one day.

  11. I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but here goes.....I LOVE this one. When I'm stuck on quilting...and I always am....I pick my favourite element and highlight it. I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide.
