Finish Along 2016 -Q4 Goals

It's time to set my Q4 goals for Finish Along 2016.  I've decided to make a short list, as the three projects are going to take some time.  I'm linking up with Leanne at She Can Quilt.

I finished my Night Sky quilt last November.  I've been procrastinating on how to quilt it, but I think I finally have a plan.  I've decided on a purple backing, but  am undecided on thread.  I know it would look good with matching thread colours, but I don't want the hassle of the many thread changes, so I'm thinking maybe a light grey.

You may remember that I went to Glamp Stitchalot back in June in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  You can read about my adventures here and here and here.  I think I have the layout mostly figured out, but I need to finish the mountain row.

And my last project is my Makers's Tote.  I have fabrics chosen, but am tempted to change them.

Here's to a successful Q4.

  1. Cute new quilt. On the other consider a light or robins egg blue. It turned out well on a yellow background for me

  2. I would probably use matching thread I know it is a pain in the butt. It is a striking quilt.

  3. I love that glamp stitch along quilt. I wish it was mine! Just kidding...it's beautiful and I might have to make something kind of like it. We'll see. So many ideas.

  5. Love your quilt, so happy you were able to make your goal, I need to go back and read your previous blogs to find this pattern/quilt it is so beautiful it reminds me of some of the pretty flowers we saw today while out leaf peeping in Shelbernfalls MA. In a tiny town in the Berkshires, the leaves are turning and we went for our annual leaf ride and walk across the Bridge of Flowers

  6. Love your Night Sky quilt! It is on my list of quilts to make in the future. My Glamp quilt is not even close to being finished and I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Yours looks amazing, Anja. I can't wait to see your Maker's Tote. Good luck with your goals!

  7. Good luck with your goals, Anja! Your Night Sky quilt would look fantastic with a medium grey, I think. It would stand out a bit on the black (which would be pretty) and then mostly blend in with the stars. Whatever you choose, I look forward to seeing it!

  9. Anja, you have worked hard this year, I think narrowing that list down to three is well deserved. Night Sky is gonna look even more awesome once you get it finished.

  12. I'm excited to see you plan to finish Night Sky! What about invisible thread? Superior Thread has a monopoly that doesn't melt with heat.

  13. I think gray thread will be fine. I had my Gravity quilt done with gray, and it looks great. The quilting stands out, but the gray color doesn't detract from the design. Love Jaybird's patterns!

  15. I'm in love with all three projects but I think Night Sky might be ahead by just a little bit. Good luck with your goals.

  16. A light grey drifting towards mauve for a quilting thread, perhaps?
